Minley

The Royal School of Military Engineering is based at Chatham in Kent, Minley in Surrey and Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire. It is the largest residential construction college in Europe. Gibraltar Barracks at Minley is home to 3RSME Regt and Battlefield Engineering Wing. On completion of Phase 1 training, all Royal Engineers proceed to RSME Minley to complete their Phase 2a training in which they will qualify as a combat engineer

Gibraltar Barracks is 3 minutes from Junction 4a of the M3. The nearest train stations are Fleet (frequent trains to London and the South West) and Blackwater (trains to Gatwick and Reading). Local amenities are ample with family attractions, leisure centres, shopping centres, cinemas, theatres, sporting venues and supermarkets all within easy access.  Larger towns such as Basingstoke and Reading all have excellent wide ranging choices of shopping centres, restaurants and leisure facilities and are easily accessed by road and rail.

Minley Station provides a wide range of facilities including an SSVC cinema and a Spar shop. The Junior Ranks Complex (JRC) consists of The Home Bank and Mouse Hole bars, the HIVE, WRVS (with free internet access, snooker, tea & coffee), and the barber shop. The RSME Fitness Club has a well-equipped gym, squash courts, swimming pool and all weather tennis courts.  There are a number of sports clubs with membership open to all Minley Station personnel including the BSAC Sub - Aqua club, Clay Pigeon Club and Angling Club. The Station has Officers, WOs & Sgts and Cpls Messes.
Minley Parish Church is located in the grounds of the Officers Mess whilst the welfare hub offers a multi-prayer room.
